its a 1.4, so therefore not worth it. there are various different throttle body sizes, swapping to the larger one will give more results. Have a search on xpowerforums.com for guides etc.

As said, it's already producing pretty decent power for a normally aspirated 1.4, a re-map/chip etc. simply isn't going to get you anything noticeable in terms of performance gains.

If you want a more powerful ZR, rather than modify your present car, part exchange it for a ZR160 with the VVC Engine. Less hassel unless you're a young driver with little NCB and the more powerful car would be more expensive for you to Insure.

My son bought a 1.8 K-Series engine and fitted that to his 'track car' Rover Metro, bought new in the family in 1993 with a 1.1C (Carb ) engine. More recently, he's fitted a 1.8 VVC engine to the car. These swaps were relatively easy for him even working single handed.

Here's a link with pictures of the transplant to show what can be done. All the 16 valve K-Series are easy swaps car to car as they all have identical dimensions ~ only the VVC being a little longer in the cylinder head for the VVC Mechanism.

If you wish to keep your car, why not source a good used 1.8 engine and get that slotted in. You can sell the good 1.4 and recover most if not all of the costs.

More than one way to skin a wosssname...HTH ....smile
