OK I know the answer is probably the 160 but I keep spotting tiny mileage 115's and thinking surely I can sacrifice some power to get more reliable open top motoring?

I am useless with spanners and want something as near to a new car as possible. I have also promised myself a convertible and a sub 15k mile 115 TF seems the cheapest way to have my cake and eat it.

Or should I risk the higher miles and go for a 135/160?

ETA: This is the main cause of my low mileage musings http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/MG+T...

Best thing to do is drive a few of the various spec cars .... then decide. The 115 car has adequate performance ~ the 135 would probably be the best bet overall unless you really need that VVC buzz with higher revs and the extra power .... which some drivers have found addictive.

Hi. I own a 160 and i have driven a smaller engine and i could tell the difference in performance. It all goes on what sort of budget you have??£15000 will buy you a flash new one. Maybe if you are not already a member join the mg owners club and see what they have for sale. Good luck Alex

I've got a 2004 135hp and the performance is fine. I can't say I've ever felt it lacking.

It doesn't really need any more power for UK roads, but it wouldn't hurt.

I would go for well maintained over low mileage every time. As already said take each (115,135 and 160) for a test drive and make an informed choice. If after that you decide the 115 is what you want then you would be hard pushed to find a better spec'd one than this http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/MG+T...
