My MGF VVC has developed a miss fire after a very wet drive home in the slush on Friday.
I checked the plugs which looked in good condition and cleaned the connections of the HT leads on the coil pack and gave them a wipe with WD40. I thought I had cured it - but went out this afternoon and although started off ok the mis-fire returned - seems worst under load bit reluctant spend £25 on new leads and about the same for new plugs but think this may be the only option to eliminate these items before going any further.
Any ideas please

You don't mention how old the current plugs/leads are, but if they are a few years old or more, then the leads is the first port of call, then the plugs. Odds are that it is the leads as that's the most common cause - even if they look good from the outside, it's the internals that break down.
