Power steering dash light for MGF

Has anyone had a problem with an intermittent power steering warning light on the dash please? Cleaned up the fuse but to no avail.

When does it come on? I know that it will come on if your stationary and rev the engine for a few seconds because the steering ecu sees the high revs but no motion and as it's a variable system (ie low speed high assistance) then it assumes there's a problem and shuts off....

edited to add...does your speedo work properly?
