Hi

I've just popped over from the TVR forums ( I run a Griffith). I'd also like to add a Midget to the collection. I'm looking for a tax-exempt, very good condition Midget.

I'm based near Silverstone, so anything in the Oxon, Northants, Bucks area would be of particular interest.

If yours is for sale, or you are thinking about putting it on the market - please let me know.

Thanks

(p.s. I'm not a trader)

If you would consider a red Austin Healey Sprite 1275cc from 1971, with wire wheels. MOT'd I have a pretty one, that drives, and sounds well for a mere £1,750.... Comes with new carpet set that needs fitting, and some black wrinkle finish for the dash! Spare good gearbox, hood+frame, and a guaranteed smile.

As its sat on my fathers drive for the last week, it's certainly time to let it go.

Hold on I shall post a piccy...

and I am in Kettering!!!
www.justinbaker.co.uk for numbers, location if you want to fetch her this weekend.

Hi

Thanks for the piccy and description. The idea was that this would be a car for my Dad - he always had a soft spot for them. But having looked at a couple its clear he is not as supple as he used to be. Getting in and out is a bit of a problem now. So sadly a Midget or Sprite isn't going to work for us.

So, will have to re-think the whole idea.

Thanks for your interest though - it looks a great car at a good price!

I had no idea you could get a sprite with round wheel arches. Thought they were all MGs at that point, so nice to corrected.

That's a very good point that I have only just realised upon seeing the pics again!

Sorry to say but the only RWA sprites were Froglets. That is most certainly not a Frogeye.

I would suspect at some point someone has either reshelled or replaced the rear arches, it isn't the end of the world and indeed I know of a couple of people who have chosen to RWA a non RWA shell. Choose what if the car is solid and it doesn't look too bad in terms of door fit etc. It is certainly a fairly pretty car it isn't a bad buy.

Forgive my ignorance but what's a Froglet?

Is it a 'sprog-eyed fright'?
