Hi all

Well I like it cold but my car doesn't. I put the roof down yesterday evening and crack! What I thought was resistance because I'd got the crossbar in the wrong position turned out to be resistance because the plastic window was frozen solid!

Well if I'd known that ...

Anyway, where can I go to get this fixed cheap-like? I've asked Autoglass if they do plastic windows but not had a response yet and I'm not optimistic.

And what sort of shell-out am I looking at here?

And whose idea was it to have the expensive part of the year in the cold part of the year?

Thanks all
Al

Done the same thing myself! Well done for dropping the hood in the cold.

Any good car trimmer should be able to sort you out. It cost me about £80 to have it done a couple of years ago. Just a case of cutting the 'perspex' to size and shape and then sewing it with a fancy machine. Have a look in the yellow pages or ask the garage who do the more complex things on your car....

Woo, I got it done for £110 because it needed to be done. Thanks smile I'd've probably never looked for "car trimming" in the yellow pages.

See-through gaffa tape is your friend. :-)

Yes, I know that's horrid, but in my defense the car really needs a new hood anyway, and that's what it'll be getting (with a glass rear window) once we're through winter and I can live without the car and use the bike for a day or two...

Yeah, I ran around with fablon for a while on the B, although it does peel off after a while. Don't know where you get the stuff now that Woolies has gone!
