Marina gearbox ...will it fit 1275 midget?

I want a 5 speed or o/d box in my midget. Frontline Type 9 kits v expensive. Is it possible to use Marina box with A series 1275. I know BL did it with the 1500 Triumph engine. Can you help?

Had a mate who fitted the overdrive kit from a spitfire onto his rubber bumper midget - had to cut loads off the gear stick to stop it from sticking through the roof, but it worked.

Not sure about the marina gearbox on the midget. Wasn't the 5 speed fitted to the 1800 engine, which clearly wasn't the a series? Don't think the 1300 marina was ever more than a 4 speed.

Suffice to say the job is easy. Use a Midget gearlever and it will be fine, although I suspect your friend used a marina lever not a spitfire one as it is the same length as a midget one. The marina one is the same as a mini though.
