hi, next year i renew my car insurance and i plan to upgrade my car and if all goes well i shud get my first no claims and my insurance shud drop even more since i will be turning 21.
now my first choice would be an audi a4 02 plate but really that isnt going to happen. so since i already drive a rover 25 and my dad is well experinced in fixing rovers/mg's going down the mg route for now seems the best bet.
now the orginal idea was too get the 160bhp and looking to upgrade it but tonight i found an mg zr turbo which seems to be very powerful. so what i need advice on is...
which is the more powerful car, mg zr 160 or turbo?
which one is the better car?
what do i need to look out for?
is there anyway to upgrade these cars engine wise?
and how can i go about it?
thanks for the advice in advance.

ZR 2.0 turbo conversion will cause no end of problems for you. The car will also be crap at handling!
Go for a 160 and if you really feel the need to get more power check out www.themgzr.co.uk they will be able to offer advice on the tuning.

They never made a Zr Turbo, and I can see why..
I have one, professionally built (check my profile). It's great fun in a straight line, even faster than my evo 8 lancer. But corners? Nah, doesn't do them.. The handling is unpredictable, very twitchy. The torque steer is immense, and without an expensive anti-lag system the turbo takes about 3 weeks to spool.. Oh, and it does about 15 mpg..
A standard 160 is a great wee car, high revving and quite nippy. Insurance is quite steep though, as they're group 17 (well, where I am anyway) but overall quite a fun hot hatch and easy to work on, going quite cheap at the minute as well.
