Water in oil almost always means head gasket failure (especialy if you have an F)

Others should be along soon to offer advice

Take the cap off the radiator overflow and take a sniff - smell oil, it's the gasket. You might be able to see discolouration on the block between the cylinders too, where the steam comes out once it's warmed up.

Take a search on this forum - there's loads of stuff about hgf.

Water in oil is perfectly normal, especially if the engine has been used on lots of short journeys and doesn't get really hot very often. The crank case gases contain a very large proportion of water vapour which condenses to form acidic water when the engine cools. When the engine is good and hot this boils off and escapes, but if the engine does a lot of cold running you could have literally pints of water in there.

The thing that is a very bad sign and points to a probable hgf is oil in the water.
