Would anybody have some info on a couple of back boxes i have.
I believe they are from an MGF.
The Unipart part numbers are;

07-03 CRP1980. This one has oval tailpipes.
03-04 DAM017. This one has round tailpipes and a vacuum operated butterfly valve.

Thanks in advance.

Cant help with regards to identifying them by the parts numbers but it sounds like the second one could be for a TF rather then an F, as it was only the TF that had a butterfly valve in the RH tailpipe. TF silencers also have round tailpipes, whereas most F silencers had oval (with the exception of the MGF Trophy).

Is the flange on the inlet pipe in the same place on both?
This changed sometime around 2001, earlier exhausts have two 90-degree bends in the inlet pipe, whereas later silencers only have 1 bend (the second bend being relocated into the cat outlet pipe).

The MGR parts list shows 8 different variants/part numbers for F/TF silencers, but the only real thing that dictates which model they will fit is the position of the inlet pipe flange.

Hi Steve thanks for the info.
The inlet is in the same position on both and as you say they did change about 2001. I think they are post 2001, possibly '03 and '04.

Second exhaust pictured is a Lotus Elise exhaust not an MGF or MGTF exhaust.

The first box also has the wrong type of mountings for the MG so is probably also a K Series Elise exhaust.

I thought Lotus Elise exhausts exited in the middle not at the sides.
