I've just bought an RV8 and was looking for the best club forum for that model - any ideas?

Having done a search it doesn't appear too many people on here have them but just in case, does anyone know any MGB/RV8 specialists in the Sussex area?

Thanks in advance.

My Dad's just bought one of these. A lot of information can be found at

http://www.v8register.net

His is a Jap re-import, and he has taken it to RPI engineering for a bit of a tune up. They are in Norfolk, so a fair trek from you, but seem to have a pretty good repuation for working on the RV8.

Hope this helps! biggrin

Where in Sussex are you?

For MG loving garages, there's Mossops in IIRC Mundham, or Octarine Services in Selsey (both near Chichester, W. Sussex)

Mossops are the guys that do videos explaining how to replace sills, he has a vast range of B's being broken, as well as some RV8 stuff, although his reputation is perhaps not the best going by other MG owners tales...

Octarine, whilst being in the arse end of nowhere (I should know, I live in Selsey!), are great lads, experienced with MG's (hence the name) although they're now more generalist than they used to be. They know the RV8 inside out though...

If I were you I'd give Clive Wheatley a call. He specialises in RV8's and GT V8's and has had many NLA parts remanufactured. His website is here: http://mgv8.homestead.com/

As for clubs the MGCC V8 Register is by far the most active. I'm a member of both the MGOC & MGCC however for V8's if I had to make a choice I'd join the MGCC.

Thanks, I "discovered" Clive last year and he's been very helpful if bloomin expensive for some parts ie. wheel bearings! The only problem was that a trip to Clive meant a couple of days off work as he's a 5 hour drive from me but I never did find anyone nearer so ended up using my local garage who rose to the task and really enjoyed working on the car.

Sadly due to imminent relocation down under I sold the car two days ago frown
