I'm interested in an MGC for sale at Former Glory. Unfortunately I can't get to see the car as I'm overseas and I've never dealt with the company before.

Has anyone dealt with them and if so can you give a positive feedback.

No experience of the company, however the fact I haven't heard of them isn't a bad thing, quite often the ones I hear of aren't the good ones!

What spec is the car and how much is it? Not pushing it or anything but I have a lovely 69 roadster coming up soon, it has had new sills, rear wings, front wings, original ally bonnet, all leaded not polyester filled, can supply a photographic rebuild history, has an excellent original interior with obviously new carpets and can be supplied with the original auto box in perfect working order or a manual overdrive. The plan is to finish it in Pale Primrose although that can still be amended.

Might be worth a thought.

Hi - I know Former Glory - have bought cars from them and would be happy to recommend.
I bought an MGC from Nigel (owner). Send me pm if you want to discuss further.

The car is unrestored and very original with several period extras including triple webers,JAP knock on wheels, John Chatham head, Ashley hardtop etc.and has all the paperwork from new.
Also has more recently been fitted with quick steering rack, electronic ignition and a few others. It's on the website. Price is a little high in my opinion but then it is rare to find one in this condition and spec. and I can always make an offer.

I bought my MGA from Nigel at Former Glory, he was good to deal with, the car was as described, he told me about the only major thing that needed to be sorted (second gear syncro). We haggled quite hard and he gave in.

The fuel guage was not working....turned out there was no bloody fuel in it! Did not make it to the petrol station down the road! Nigel's oppo was with me in minutes with a can, followed me to the fill up and on for a few miles. Good service. The fuel guage was working fine.

I got home and found the tonneau was not the one for the car, posted it back to him and he sent me a brand new one back.

I'd deal with him again, and its the only car I have bought from Trade in 20 years and 40 cars!

Sounds like the company in question is very straight, the post by Huntsman says a lot, none of us are perfect and we do make mistakes the secret is how those mistakes are dealt with. Sounds like a good company!

The car sounds very interesting, it should be very very potent indeed with that spec, just spend a bit of time making sure original condition doesn't include a good dose of original rust! As with all MGs make sure the shell is good, and with a C make sure the Engine is good too.
