Tempted by an 'F'

Looked at an '01/51 1.8i today.
Grey (which I like), 44k miles, 2 owners, service history, long MoT, 2 months tax.
Drives well, couple of small holes in the hood, one odd tyre, could do with a valet.
Hasn't had a head gasket renewal, no mayonnaise on the dipstick or filler cap.
10 mile test drive, seems fine, temperature ok.
Asking £3k but prepared to haggle.

I'm thinking £2750.

It'll be a summer/sunny weekend car for me.

Any comments/advice?

ETA: Gearchange a little heavy, but synchros ok.
