The lure is very strong but if anyone could give me some idea of how good they are for day to day use in terms of reliability, comfort, MPG and space for 2 adults and 2 young children.

It would only do between 5-8 miles per day during Mon-Fri with the good lady using it for work and delivering the children to and from school.

Weekend use would be either me having some fun or just on motorway trips.

Any feedback from current or present owners would be great.

Cheers

hi, recently sold mine after 2.5 yrs,
used as everyday car doing same sort of miles.. car never really missed a beat.
i did 22000 miles and loved every one of them. without doubt best all round car you can buy.
only minus point is fuel consumption ... at best 24 mpg
miss mine everyday....

I have only had mine for a few weeks but my simple advice is buy one. I have been absolutely delighted with it, plenty of space for my two teenage kids. Build quality seems excellent to me and the car has masses of character.

Probably best not to know about the fuel economy. My previous car was a V8 Camaro, so I guess the MG is a little better. I decided that as I don't do a huge mileage and hopefully as the car won't depreciate too much as there are so few of them, that the economy figures didn't matter too much.

Cheers chaps, i can cope with 20-25 mpg as it is no worse than the current family chariot.

Looks like the weekend will be spent hunting a few down....
