The fuel gauge on our 79 Midget reads a quarter of a tank when it runs out is it likely to be the gauge or sender at fault?

If its a smiths gauge, similar to the one fitted in the B, there are two adjustable screws recessed into th back of the gauge.

One for full, the other for empty.

You twidle them to adjust the resting point of the gauge needle.

Check out www.mgb-stuff.org for further info. Go to the spanners section.
