Just wondering what tyres other ZT/ZT-T owners were using? I had the Conti-Sport Contacts on originally and have replaced these with a fresh set of the same followed by a set of Cooper Avons. Mine is the ZT-T and I found with the Contacts the back end was a bit skittish. This has settled down with the Cooper Avons but I really put these on to try to extend the life of the tyres. Unfortunately, they don't appear to be any more hard wearing than the Contis

Not sure how long I'm keeping the car, so some decent ZR-rated tyres at a reasonable price would be fine. Choice is between:

o Conti Sport-Contact circa £150 per corner
o Kuhmo Ecsta Sport circa £95 per corner
o Toyo Proxes circa £140 per corner

I like the soon of the Kuhmos at that price, as long as they are to scratch

Any advice much appreciated, as always

Thanks

Hi Mike, My ZT has Falken tyres fitted, and i have found them to be very good.
I have just brought two new ones from Camskill tyres (www.camskill.co.uk ) for £176-20 including vat, and postage was free.
A local tyre place will fit and balance for a Tenner a wheel, and so makes for approx £98 per corner fitted. They also stock Toyo at similar prices.
Hope this helps.

How much??? yikes

Whatever you do, don't pay that much for Toyos!!!

Camskill currently have them on in the right size for £88.90. You'll have to pay a tenner or so per tyre to get them fitted, but still waaaaaaay cheaper than £140 a corner! You may find them cheaper elsewhere on the web, although Camskill do seem to be consistently cheap for Toyos.

I don't know which engine you've got, but on my 260 I found the Toyos to be superb, but they do wear fast, as they're a pretty soft compound. They are also horrible for the first 100 miles or so until you've scrubbed off the top surface. I would certainly look at getting them again though.

Late to this thread, sorry.
I've tried Michelin expensive thingies,- nice but noisy and even though they last longer they do cost an arm and a leg and a bit of one's left lung!
Current rubber on my ZTT is Verdestein Ultrac - (designed by Guigaro (sp?) ? )
Very very good. Quiet, comfortable, good grip, nice handling. Seem to be lasting at least as long as the french stuff, and less than £100 per corner

Hello people.
Im getting due for tyres on the front of my ZT and iv been shocked at some of the quotes iv had from tyre dealers. Im being quoted around £200 a tyre from different places and they say its because the ZT's are very high load rated (they are 99 as apossed to 91 or 95).
I do quite a bit of milage so i require something that wont wear out in a week!
So my question is what do you guys use on the ZT (99, 95, or 91) and where from ?
Thanks
Mark

Unfortunately I'm in Somerset and my 260 is in Surrey, so I can't check, but all the ones I've had have been in the region of £90 - £110 per corner, and I've not once had a problem with them, whether Toyos, Avons or Contis, although I wouldn't return to the latter.
