Hey guys, I was just having a trawl and came across this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

I went to see the demonstrator that was at Horners in Manchester when they were launched.
Just out of interest does anybody on PH own one?
The reaction when they were launched was mixed but being an MG-Rover fan I've always had a soft spot for them.

Any idea how many were made in total? And what happened to the green one that Rowan Atkinson was running for Evo a few years back?

I'd love to see a few more piccies. It's a shame they didn't make very many of them. I think they are such a great looking car.

I think that MG pretty much managed to price themselves out of the market.

It was originally the Qvale Mangusta, until MGR bought Qvale and reworked it. If I remember rightly, there were a total of 72 made in total, and a fair few of those were unsold until the MG Sport & Racing auction. I have no doubt they went for absolute peanuts. cry Everything else there did.

Some of the new unsold ones are still for sale at Oakfields. Very, very nice cars, look good in orange too!

Oakfields are based in Hampshire and can be found here:

http://www.oakfields.com/showroom01.asp

They purchased many of the assets of MG Sport and Racing and still seem to have a couple of unsold SVs. I am very surprised that they have not sold at the quoted prices as they seem a pretty good buy to me....

IIRC, Oakfields were asking closer to £100k for the ZT V8 endurance racer that they currently have up for £50k. They hoovered the S&R stock up for peanuts, then priced them unrealistically, and now they're dropping back down again. I wonder how low they'll go! smile

There's a not quite standard MG SV-R being run in the UK Street Eliminator drag racing championship. It's campaigned by John Webster, has circa 1700hp and is still street legal evil

Cheers Jules.

I just had a look at their website, they have an absolutley awesome selection of cars!

I quite fancy one of the MG SV-R's, the MG ZT racing car, the Mondeo Touring car and an XJ220 please (for starters!)

The SV-R's are ridiculously cheap compared to their original 85k price. If I had the money I would buy one.

I also fancy that anniversary TF, one of the ZR racers and the E30 M3 Touring car.

There is so much lovely stuff there!

That was quite funny, just after the auction they had a big double page add in a mg club mag. on the following page was a list of all the items sold and the prices DOH...

The ZT racer went for a smidgen under 40 with all the auction fees and taxes on it. I had a good crawl round it and it was nicely done, but you'd not pay 100k for it as has been proved. I think It'll go lower before its sold...

They've now got it on at under £43k plus VAT, so not much wiggle room if they shelled out 40k for it!
