I have recently purchased a MGF R reg.The oil pressure guage does not seem to work.I have checked oil level and everything seems fine. Any ideas?

Unless it has an additional aftermarket gauge fitted, it will be for measuring oil temperature rather than pressure, and should start registering within a few miles of moving off. Most likely candidates in ascending order of difficulty to fix will be:

1) A fuse somewhere has blown and needs relacing (Haven't got the book to hand, and I can't remember if any of the fuses relate to sensors or individual gauges
2) The wiring plug to the sensor has just become detached and needs to be plugged back onto the sensor
3) The wiring near the sensor is damaged and needs repiaring
4) The sensor itself is knackered and rneeds replacing
5) Tha gauge is broken (most difficult to replace, but the least likely)

Thanks for that.Looked into manual myself and cannot relate a fuse to pressure guage. Will have a play later. Not life threatening but you always want things correct.

As MGMark said there isn't a pressure gauge on the MGF.It's an oil temp gauge. Are you going far/fast enough for the oil to warm up enough for it to register...?
