Well, got the bug now and going to look at a V8 on Fridaybiggrin Mk 1 SE with 24K on clock.
Made some enquiries about LPG conversion, as would probably be doing highish mileage. Figures around £2k for the conversion.
Anyone on here had it done,or know any reasons not to do it. Any issues with lubrication etc.
Cheers.

If you go and take a look on the V8 section of www.xpowerforums.com and search for LPG, there's a guy on there who had it done. Plenty of miles of trouble-free motoring according to his account, and the price sounds right too.

Thanks Chris. Will take a look through.
There is one currently in the classifieds, but mileage is a bit higher than i am looking for. So, looking for a lower mileage one and getting a conversion done myself. Think that it also lowers the Road fund tax, as then classed as a alternative fuel vehcle.

Don't worry too much about mileage, as they're pretty indestructible! smile

As there are so few of them, concentrate instead on finding one you like in terms of colour and spec.

Well,done the deed biggrin
Now have a X-Power Grey 260, 04 plate sitting on the driveway.
Colletced it on Tuesday evening, its the LPG converted, the one that was forsale in the classifieds here on PH.
It is absolutely immaculate, the guy who owned it was absolutely fanatical about his cars, and is in mint condition. Went to look at a SE model as well with only 24K miles on the clock, but wasn`t a patch on this one.
The only bad point was a couple of kerbed wheels, which are currently being re-furbished as i type.
With the Cobra exhausts, its sounds amazing thumbup
Looking forward to putting some miles on it now.

Thanks Chris. Yes, will certainly be registering on the site. Bound to be a few question i need answering. The only thing i need to do right away is get a couple of new tyres on the rear.
Any recommendations? Are Toyos worth considering?

Toyos are very good, but do wear pretty quickly. The original fit Contis are OK everywhere except for at carpark speeds on full lock, when the car sort of jumps one way or the other rather than driving!

I've got Avon ZZ3s on at the moment. They are nowhere near as good as the Toyos, but it's also the first set I've fitted at 245 on the back, 235 on the front (I've fitted slightly wider wheels) so until I've worn these out and stuck Toyos on in that size, I can't say whether the difference is down to the size or the type of tyre.
