well ... where to start? i bought a 1974 BGT back in september and having spent a couple of grand sorting the poor old shed out and having gained a few points on my previously clean licence through enjoying myself a bit too much down a quiet b road, much to the consternation of my girlfriend i decided that it just wasnt as fast as my childhood dreams had lead me to expect!

soooo having forked out for a 1950cc oselli stage 2 engine, breathing through a weber 45 carb i am now a happy man (i just let my second chef at work drive it and i've never seen someone look so scared in their life!) However, my lovely lady is not so happy!

The cause of her displeasure would appear to be the abundance of old MGB parts currently lying around our rather small home. So, if you're on the lookout for a standard exhaust system, twin 1 1/12" SU carbs, air filters, manifolds, or anything of the sort, just drop me a line! i need shut of them!

Oh! I'm thinking of getting my grubby paws on a sebring bodykit and a set of minilites, so if anybody has or knows of anyone selling .... please let me know!

Much love and happy motoring!

My Dads BGT is still in the garage, I'll ask him if he needs any of those bits. Other than the MGOC I dont know where you can get the Sebring kit. Minilites are abundant on eBay.

I dont suppose you have a spare 5 bearing 1800 engine?

I'm planning to rebuild an 1800 and add a five speed type nine ford box and drop into our MGA for next summer.

How many HP do you get from the Oselli 1950?

pah! just got rid of the old motor! sorry mate! the mg owners club do re-conditioned ones for about 800 quid, or i'm pretty sure you can pick up a second hand motor at www.mgbhive.com for about 300 (ish)

Good luck with the transplant, do post some pics when you've got it done, be good to see!

Still running in, so I've not had my B on a dyno yet, but i'm reckoning on about 130 bhp .... it's definately fun in the wet anyways! I'll let you know when i've got a definate figure!
