Hello!
I wonder if you could help. My mother in law has a '79 MGB. She wants to get rid of it and has enlisted me to help her........rolleyes
Could anyone give me a valuation, as I have no idea at all. All I can say is that it drives really well, and is in amazingly good nick for such an old car.
Also, where is the best place to advertise (apart from here of course). MG owners club possibly? Do you have to join to advertise?
I hope you take this the right way - it isn't an advert - I have put one of those in the classifieds. I'm just after some advice!
Anyway, here are the details:
Registered 26 June 1979.
5 owners
Mother in law owned since 2001
Pageant blue
1798cc
68227 miles.
Not sure if it has ever been restored, but I'd be very surprised it it hasn't because it is in such good condition.
Garaged
1/2 and full tonneau

The only slight issue is that they live in the Isle of Man. is it worth bringing it back here and registering here? I have no idea how to do that!

Thanks very much
Karl

If it's in good nick, no major rust hiding in the sills, inner wings or floorpans, then you're looking at about £4000 for a rubber bumper B. Difficult to tell without having an expert i.e. experienced MG B owner having a look over it.

Owners Club is a good place to advertise - you don't have to be a member, but you will have to pay. I think you can go straight through their website www.mgcars.org.uk

I'd also try advertising in autotrader. Most people buying cars look there first, even for common classics like MG Bs.
