Mate of mine has a 53 plate car as above.
He is getting an average fuel consumption of 33 - 34 mpg shown on the trip computer.

Looking at the figures on Parkers website he should be getting closer to 40mpg.

Anyone seen this or can anyone shed any light on hw y this is so low?

Cheers in advance for any help.

My fathers 75 Tourer CDTi auto achieves about 33-34 if used for urban work, according to the computer. In reality it's a bit better than that. Take it out of town and let it get up to speed with top gear engaged and the torque convertor locked up most of the time and it can top 40 mpg.

Sounds about right, my car has never seen over 40mpg, even on long runs.
