I have a 76 B Roadster which has spax adjustable's fitted. They are currently set at position 1, the softest setting. In order to save much time and effort, can anyone share their expeirence of various settings ?. The car will only be used for a couple of West Coast runs each year and the odd evening /weekend run.

Many thanks for any assistance.

My advice would be to take them off and stick good lever arms on but I dislike telescopic kits on mg's.

Don't go too hard. the car will understeer like hell on wet roundabouts / tight corners. Like wildoliver said, I prefer uprated lever arms on the front. I've got telescopics on the back, but only because the parabolics react quicker than standard dampers.

I always set my road cars up stiffish front soft back, that way you have something that will tuck in to corners well but not kick out on you too quickly if you mess it up, but stiffish is in reference to the standard set up not kevins nova with 60mm drop that removes your fillings, the reason the b is so quick on country roads is the suspension will take the stress of a rough road and absorb it, modern cars won't, I must admit I use lever arms all round and adjust stiffness with oil weight. And always use soft springs on the road.

But these work for me, you must play with your own settings to see what you like.

Sounds like what I have. Stiff, but not exorbitantly so at the front and stiffer than standard at the back. I've driven an RV8 and mine doesn't seem far off apart from the lighter RV8 steering and its better damping.

I'm seriously considering going all round independant on mine, designing something around a sierra rear diff.
