Hi there, My steering pulls to the left. I know it's not the balancing and tracking as have had those checked. Someone menetioned that it could be the power steering - has anyone else had this problem / know what it could be?
Thanks

That sounds like it's the torque sensor playing up, apparently this is "officially" non-repairable and calls for a complete new steering column assembly at £lots but some intrepid owners seem to have come up with a (relatively) simple fix.

Take a look at www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/common_problems/epas_reset/index.htm

Before anyone asks, no, I haven't got my 'F' yet as the dealer I'm getting it from was unable to finish servicing and MOTing it due to storms, floods, power cuts, plague of frogs, dog eating homework, or something along those lines after last weeks bad weather...

Whilst the EPAS sensor is a very likely source, before you rip that apart, given the nature of the F's suspension front and rear, was the balancing and tracking done on all 4 wheels or just the fronts? If the latter, then get all 4 checked and 4-wheel tracking done, as the rear tracking is also critical. Also check the wheel bearings. Either or both of these in combination can cause the pulling to the left you describe (in my case it was a failing left rear wheel bearing). The easy way to check whether it is the EPAS before ripping it apart is to disable it by pulling the fuse supplying its power under the bonnet and then driving the car - the steering will be heavier at slow speed, but if then it's not pulling to the left, it is probably something to do with the EPAS. hOwever, if it is still pulling to the left, then its probably not to do with the EPAS, but is to do with the tracking or bearings. Or even the tyre combination - have you got the right size tyres on front and rear, as they should be different?
