My sister has a Mgf vvc and she asked me to have a look at it because recently the boot light stopped working. I traced it down to a 15A fuse blowing that also powers the radio and interior lights. The bulb is ok and all the wires seem to look ok connecting to the trunk lock. Is this the switch that makes the bulb illuminate ?
The fuse only blows when I shut the boot was wondering if anyone else has had this problem ?

Thanks for any advice....

A 15A fuse for interior lights and radio, are you sure that's the right rating? Maybe somebody has put a bigger fuse in to try to stop it blowing? I can only suppose there's a short in the switch, if you can find the switch and operate it you may be able to see what the problem is.

With the boot lid up you should see a wiring loom fixed to the left hand hinge on the boot lid.......
Quite a common problem is one, or more of the wires inside this part of the loom can snap causing the problems you are getting....

It's just a case of removing the looms outer covering and checking the wiring inside.
