I have a converted MGB roadster with what I beleive to be a Rover P6 engine of circa 1973 with a holley carb on an eidelbrock manifold.
I have noticed recently that the crank case breather pipe work hisses and if I remove it you can see what appears to be steam coming out of the crank case.
Oil and water levels seem fine and there are no overheating problems. Car runs fine there sems to be plenty of power no misfiring/stalling or other signs of problems.
Can anyone advise what might be wrong?

Well depending how much steam probably nothing, its normal for steam/vapour to come out of the breathers, thats what they are there for.

If however it is very heavy it could have knackered rings, but to be honest the engine would probably still have a lot of life left in it.
