Have a look on here: http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen there's lots of information about putting the K-series into a Midget, I don't know about MGB's though, might be worth a post

the standard bellhousing for the K series 4 cylinder fits. It has the smae bolt pattern as kv6.

What would you do re fuel and spark? does the kv6 have dizzy? can you fit a carb to it?

Or do you have to make up an ecu system?

ignition and fuel could prove the real promblem, a few four cylinder k series mgbs are about they seem to have married the emu to the existing mg loom. This is the route I am going to take I have not seen a carb set up for the v6 but it might be worth a look. Happy new year everyone.

A couple of cautionary notes - if you buy a KV6 make sure it is out of a ZS rather than a ZT. The ZT uses a Getrag box and different dual-mass flywheel which wont mate up to a bell-housing designed for a 4 cylinder car without changing the flywheel. Also the ECU is different and harder to mess with. If you get one from a ZS180 (my recommendation) get it with the engine loom, ECU, imobiliser and key fobs all from the same car. It will save you money having to get parts from different cars aligned.

If you go for throttle bodies and non-Rover ECU the Emerald k3 will work, but tell them to modify it for a KV6 as they can't run all 6 ignition amplifiers as standard. THe only downside to the mod is that you can't run sequential injection, but no big deal. The alternative is to keep the Emerald standard but use a ignition pack from a v6 Vauxhall. Throttle bodies off the 3 cylinder Triumph bikes (T955i and T675 are good)can be made to fit and are cheap from bike breakers on ebay, but its not a straight bolt-on becasue you have to make up a pair of manifolds to mount them and you could run into bonnet clearance issues unless you mount them in the V on short manifolds.

We put a KV6 into a mid engined track day car and married the standard ZS180 engine loom and ECU into the original car loom. My mate is a genius with car electrics (part of his job) so if you need an expert he'll want to charge you a little bit but it could save you a lot of head scratching.

THere is a guy on the XPower forum (his tag is CHARGER) who can sell you a KV6 to transplant, and he will make sure you have the right parts if you tell him what you're doing. Very reasonable prices too. I've had a couple of engines off him for projects in the past.

Here's a Youtube link to a longitudinally mounted Kv6 (although its mid-engined) with throttle bodes, althought this engien is touring car spec....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwkRqvPWKPw
