Too damp to play. Bloody annoying after a) fitting electronic ignition and b) telling at least 2 people that I hadn't had problems with it not starting for years... Kiss of death!

Try again later with WD40 on the plug leads. Probably do a mini-service this weekend - plugs, leads, dizzy cap, oil to stop it happening after the next downpour.

Yeah, started at the top and worked my way down over lunch. (I know it's likelier to be damper at the bottom, but it's easier that way). WD40 worked its magic and having got inside the dizzy cap and sprayed the coil wiring and ht lead the car started without so much as a hiccup.

One aspect not to forget is the rapid rate at which modern silicon leads break down and become susceptible to damp. Don't forget the option of using the older distributor cap with screws and proper old copper leads - I never get damp starting problems with them, but they give you a hell of a belt if you touch them when live!
