All,

Friend of mine has the above car, it makes 135bhp which for its big brakes, wide tyres and firm suspension is a joke! He's wondering what is the cheapest and/or best route to more power for this car; chipping, air flow mass meter, anyone any useful suggestion?

He was told it has a BMW engine and in the 3-series this same engine makes 170bhp - true or urban myth?

Thanks!

Roman

I have one of Rover Rons boxes and it does make a big difference. I dont think I have got some of the same results as other but I just think my engine has always been slow.

It would also be a good idea to get a new MAF sensor or at least buy a MAFAM from Ron too. If you MAF is rubbish the box wont make much difference.

Good luck.

Tunit also do a unit but it costs 3 times more.

and the gimp on the pedal thinks it's ok to take the car to the rev limiter - when on a V8 Rover engine, 4k for torque and 5250 for bhp are always the max-ish on standard engine - and make jokes about getting paid to rag your motor
