ZR door lock problem
Discussion
My wifes ZR drivers door has developed a problem, I shut it the other day and heard a bit of a clattering inside only to find that now it won't open from the inside handle or the outside handle - the central locking solenoids are activating but I suspect the linkage to the lock has disengaged or snapped. Bit of a problem because to get the door panel off to gain access to the locks I need to open the door ?
Managed to pull out the outer window seal to try to get a hook down to release lock but so far failed. Any ideas ???

My ZR is a Mk1 and I had this problem as well, but it was covered under warranty. I know it took them the best part of 2 days to sort out though.
I'd say keep trying with the hook tbh, theres a screw at the front of the door card (hidden because of the dash when the door is closed) You can unscrew the three screws in the handle (pull the cover off of the handle, its in two parts). and try and lift the door card out of the way to have a look just be careful of the screw at the front.

Thanks for that - yes I have managed to pull the door card away enough to get a small access window and it appears all the linkages are in place the fault seems to be within the latch assembly itself - something has broken or dislodged and rendered the door locked. The solenoid seems to be fuctioning. I'm in the process of getting a replacement lock before I remove the back of the latch assembly working through the small gap I've got. Once I get the back plate off hopefully I will be able to unlock the door somehow then once opened it won't be a problem to change the assembly. It's a pain though - a new latch is £116 +vat which also is a pain !
