MG Car Club vs. MG Owners Club
Discussion
I'd be interested to hear peoples comments on this. When I was an MG person the MGOC was mainly for MGB owners, I guess it has changed since then? The MGCC on the other hand had been around since 1930's and was sanctioned by the RAC to hold race meetings and invite other clubs. Consequently one could go to MGCC race meetings at Brands, Silverstone etc. and see a good cross section of all MG's meet froends etc. whereas MGOC meets were mainly picnics in fields. Rich...
Hugo,
I'm a member of both and both are worth subscrption for mags.
Both cover full range including new cars. The CC is biased towards the older and non modified cars although in Feb covered a K into Midget. The OC is biased towards B era but has Tech advice line with Roger Parker providing some of the advice. Rog is a tech guru on V8 into B's also drives TF and ZS (I believe) and his tech articles each month can be on anything MG.
Paul (Midget, 4.6V8B and ZS180)

The MGCC is the one to be in. They hold Orienteering runs, Sprints, Hill-Climbs and foreign trips. The annual event is superb at Silverstone.
My Uncle is the Chairman of the MGCC and is always organising various trips to France and Italy.
However, my experience of the MGCC is that anything newer than the RV8 is not a real MG in terms of heritage and they can be a little snooty. My uncle has a late 1950's MGTF (and a few others) and when they called that new rover type thing a TF he went nuts as did many other people.
