Hi all - apologies for the invasion from the mini forum - but am building up a project mini and have been given a tachometer from a midget - one small problem however I have have no idea how to connect this up, the loom in my mini has no obvious provision for an indendepent tacho) - the tacho come from I believe a 1275 midget, is negative earth and carries the serial RVI 2430/01. To the rear there are three connections a male spade, a male bullet and a female bullet shrouded in rubber casing (as well as the bulb holder that I've worked out for myself!) I'd be most grateful for any guidance - as the obvious bulb holder applies to the integral ignition light- i'd guess one of the three terminals relates to internal lighting?????
Many thanks
Tim

Hi, This is an early type Tacho that is wired in the circuit from the coil.
The spade terminal is the +12v supply from the 'ignition on' side of the fuse box.
The 2 bullet type connectors are the signal from the coil - take the wire from the negative side of the coil and extend it to one of the bullet terminals the tacho (sorry but I dont know which terminal, you may have to experiment), and then take a wire from the other terminal of the tacho and connect that back on to the negative side of the coil.
