I'm usually over on the Mini section (hence 'Cooperman'), but I am building an engine for a Midget and need a bit of tech advice.
The car is an 1118 cc Midget for Historic Rallying with around 85 bhp projected and I'm trying to source a suitable clutch for competition use. The 1275 comp. clutch doesn't fit and no-one seems to know what will.
The block is an 1100 of the '10CC' casting variety with a clutch having 8.75" bolt x 6 off P.C.D. with 4 dowel holes. Driven plate appears to be c.7.25" dia.
The need is for a stronger than standard cover with an up-rated material on the driven plate.
If anyone can help I'll be most grateful.

For what it's worth, when I needed a better clutch/clutch cover for my MGB, a friend gave me the contact info for the local import company for Sachs-Boge. They made one to spec at a very reasonable cost (around £150) and it works very well.

Contact Peter May at www.petermayengineering.co.uk He supplies competition parts for all types of Midget motorsport. Failing that try a posting on the MG Bulletin Board site www.mgcars.org.uk , a good source of information
