Tracked the TF
Discussion
...and it was gooooooood
On a dry day, the car handled superb. I went to Croft (my first trackday in this car, and my first time at this circuit). The brakes and tyres were all standard - just thought I'd see how I got on.
Well, on my first session I came off at Sunny In. Brakes locked up and had to come off else smash into tyres. I realised as the day went on that I can go through there at 90 no problem. I was just as quick as some elises, much quicker than some escorts and other Fiat things.
All in all a good day. And no leaking head gaskets
Bring on the next one .... (along with AP racing brakes, new wheels and decent tyres!)

what model TF you got? i want to track my 135 but i didn't want to turn up and have the piss taken out of me by elises and porsches
If you contact Dave Livingstone at www.mgs-on-track.com he does track days just for MGF/TFs..... he does several every year and they are well organised and a great day out, plus as Dave is a serious track day addict in his F, he will give you all the advice you need about using your car on the track!!.
I think any F/TF owner should take their cars on track at least once, you can push it to its limits in a safe enviroment and get a `feel` for what the car is doing when cornering/braking etc......... all of which helps you on the road as you will then know yours, and your cars limits and exactly what the car is telling you!!...
Go for it!!....... its the most fun you can have with your pants on!!!!

You should go for it. You'll enjoy it in the car.
I'm same as you, and loved it. Dont worry about other cars. Even slower cars can be faster than you due to the driver standard etc
MG's on Track will be a good starting point.
