There seem to be plenty of MGB's still on the road. How many are still used as everyday cars?

Used to drive it everyday (from home to work) until sold it recently. It is fantastic car to drive.

Mine is used a lot. Ran it as a daily driver for most of the last year (until I bought my 928 in Jan). Once I get her mot done, I'll be using her probably two or three times a week.

Sold my roadster last year to make way for the Chimaera. Used to use it every day, mind, with a 4.6 V8 under the bonnet driving in the wet could be just a tad exciting.

Good morning, this is my first time so please be gentle! I drive an MGB Roadster everyday. It is the best car I've ever had and it will take a lot for me to part with it.

I drove an MGB Roadster daily in the late 70's and hand-on-heart it was the best fun I have ever had. Youth and women had a lot to do with it though

Being 24 and still young, I wanted to get my hands on a sports car as soon as possible. The MGB has always been a dream car to me, my father has always talked about his endlessly. He encouraged me to buy my '72 Roadster and it was probably the first time I took his advice (being young and never listening to parents) and it was the best advice he ever gave me!! At the slightest glimpse of sun I have the roof down, even if it's -5 outside!!!! That's why they made hats and warm coats!!

I do the same thing with my '65 roadster! Passengers don't always seem to be very appreciative though

I used my '80B throughout college, from March until December. Yes, it was cold.

The heater was always open since I clobbered the valve when I replaced the head and never fixed it.

I'd 'hopped-up' the engine replacing the Zenith carb with a Weber downdraft, tube headers and a real ignition. The suspension was a replica of the Sebring kit. I also used race compound tires with a rain tread.

I loved that car. It has been in my folk's garage going on 10 years now. I need to go get it.

The good thing about the MGB is that there always seem loads still on the road! I think they were one the the best cars ever made in Britain.

On and off I have driven my B to and from work, it does fine. I generally drive the Scirocco to work as it's more economical and more practical, don't have to be as careful where I park it, etc.

My B is a '72, mostly stock but with the Euro pistons for higher compression, has the braided metal hoses for the oil cooler with the integral thermostat, (which I highly recommend) and has O/D. The B keeps up with traffic, and will cruise at up to 80 just fine.

When its' really hot out it's my favorite car to drive, top down and all.

took it to wales & back a couple of weeks ago, fun drive (except motorway) and 41mpg cant fault that out of a 1500.

Partial thread hijack: the V8 will probably (finally) be on the road this week (getting it through Belgian MOT hopefully), I feel like it's nearly xmas.
Will keep you updated as to how life with it is

Just got another BGT, not a V8 this time, but a useful amount of performance. My excuse is to save the mileage / residuals on the daily driver, so I'll be using it for my weekly commute away from home. Nice to drive a car that gives you some real sensation of driving.
