Discussion
Im considering purchasing one of these as my next company car as they seem to be one hell of a bargain at the moment, have noticed that a couple that I have seen have twin exhausts and some have quad exhausts, is the quad a sports exhaust or is it only on the later model, this probably sounds a strange enquiry but the main reason I want one is for the v8 noise and presumably the quad system will sound quite a lot louder.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Opposite way around actually. The quads are standard fit and make a nice noise but are not particularly vocal. IE: when idiling.
The dual pipes are the 'X-power pipe's and were a factory option. They replace the quad back boxes and have a much deeper, louder tone. A few owners with them have found them a bit too boomy and noisy for the motorway at certain revs. If you want to speak to more owners have a look at the xpower forums website, there is a specific and active V8 forum.
If you want to hear, first hand, the standard quad pipes watch the "MGCGV8 at Bedford" vid on this link. This is my car with the camera mounted on the tow bar between the exhausts.
