MG ZR 2.0 TD Cambelt

Hi, can anyone tell me when the cambelt should be changed on a MG ZR 2.0 TD? It is an 02 plate and has done 55,000 miles so far.

My ZS 2L TD was done at 48000 miles. I think some of the newer ones are at 60000 miles. Depends if it has an automatic tensioner or not. If you give your (ex) dealer the vin number they will tell you.

Beware that it is not a straight forward job as the fuel pump belt needs done at the same time, and it seems that the timing of it is very critical and best left to someone with the right tools (I had independent MG specialists turn the work down as they didn't have the tools to do the diesel).

Thanks for the warning. A trusted local garage is going to be doing the work, but I will be giving it a thorough testing afterwards to make sure all is OK.

What do you guys think of your ZR TDs? Im interested in the 115+ after having a 200 1800iS. There are some good deals out there at the moment and i was just wondering what you thought of the build quality?

Hi, I was quite impressed by the overall feel of the car. I have had a couple of problems with things rattling etc, but they were all covered by the warranty. I do like the mid range torque and if you catch it right it flies.

84k (or 7 years)for the auto tensioner and 48k (or 4 years) for the manual tensioner model.
