MG Enthusiast feature cars
Discussion
Greetings MG fanatics,
as you might be aware, MG Enthusiast magazine has been taken over by Octane Media and now incorporates totalMG, where I used to be assistant editor. MG Enthusiast will cover all angles of MG - new or old - and is actually a really good read. I'm on the lookout for interesting feature cars, anywhere in the UK, so if you're interested in having your car in the magazine just PM me and we can look at the possibilities.
Just written the cover story for the January issue (200mph supercharged ZT) so look out for it. Hope to hear from some of you guys soon...

Kevin, do you intend to cover the very wide UK MG racing scene. The car club has a large number of well suported champsionships and it would be great to see them covered in an MG biased mag. It may encourage more people to watch and to take part.
The championships are well known for producing good racing, they appear to be a favourite with the Marshals over on the ten-tenths forum.

Much obliged. They are pretty easy to cover as the MGCC rus it's own meetings so in most cases you find all championships running at the same venue on the same day. some of us do go off with the odd other club becuase the championship prefers a circuit or locale, but it only happens a few times a year.

Thanks Peter,
although MG Enthusiast isn't a new title, it's certainly been given new life under Octane's ownership and I think it will be an excellent publication for fans of the marque wherever they happen to live. You can never please all the people all of the time but, unlike totalMG, this time all bases really will be covered. Hope you like it...
Anyway, come on guys and girls, where are your feature cars???

Good engine in that car fella. Where's the Photo taken though, it's far too clean to be Peters workshop

True, The pic was taken at a rolling road in the Netherlands last year.
Peter however did manage to find 33 hidden horsies in the engine!
Have you raced at the MG Silverstone event in the last years? I've been the last 3 times and have thoroughly enjoyed the races from the pits.
edit: meant to say in my first post: There's a brief description of what's been changed on my '65 MGB on my profile.

I was there this year in the attoricous rain. Brilliant fun despite the conditions and a real ding dong fight with my rival. It was one of the first races after lunch, I was in a blue MGB GT, the rival a Green MGB roadster. If you were at the complex you may remember a race where, after loosing 1st in class track position after the bridge the blue MGBGT then drove around the outside of the green MGB at luffield! That was me.
Peter B is a good fella and I can't recommend him enough for any MG Engine work.

Kev,
If you're thinking of doing a feature on Yank MGB's, want find out something you didn't know about MGB's (or C's / V8's)or even trying to sort out a fault, here's a site worth visiting
They even have a global register for the various models.

I've found a few tips on how to do things I've been struggling with, and seen some pretty amazing mods & rebuilds. Not really sure if I could go down the path of fitting a jap v6 though - although it seems a fairly popular pastime on the other side of the pond.
As for my (wife's) MGB GT - been rebuilding it for about 2 years now, but due to spending time working away (looking for the oil to keep everyone on the road) it has slowed almost to a halt.
It was originally in Harvest Gold (Nappy Yellow ?), then spent a while in multi-colour ( Bonnet & Hatch in Tahiti Blue, doors, wings & sills in Red primer, with most of remaining bodyshell still in original colour)
It is now stunning in Pearlescent Tahiti Blue. Most of the glass has now been installed, with the doors remaining to have their mechanicals & glass fitted. The engine is now fitted, but without any ancillaries attached yet.
Hopefully I'll have it on the road in spring, ready for the shows - but not going to go looking for prizes, as it will be my wife's "daily driver"
