I've just started on the restoration of my 1966 MGB. It was bought by my father new and having brought it back to the road in 2012 I've now got the space to do a proper restoration on it. The plan is to completely strip down, restore and rebuild. I've set up a blog to record the fun: http://mgb66.wordpress.com/

I'll be taking lots of photos and they will all be available on line for people to refer to.

Watching with interest. Looking at the first few photo’s it looks in pretty good condition.

Have you got a list of works to undertake?

I have some vices too, which I also inherited from my father plus a whole load of other tools. I have a gilpin axe to clean up and re-handle soon. There is something special about using and looking after a dear relatives work tools.

Good luck with the project

Thanks, it’s in fairly good condition but has a number of areas that need attention. I want to be able to take it round Europe like my parents did so want it as reliable as I can make it.

The plan is to fully strip and then restore. Expecting work on the body as well as mechanicals.
