MGF: Engine, exhaust & rad needed

Mate of mine has just had his rad go bang, which he is told caused the engine to overheat and warp the head, end result being that he has been told he needs a new rad and engine, (plus the exhaust is on the way out so may aswell be replaced at the same time).

Anyone know anyone reliable and close to Oxted (SurreyI think..), that could either give an opinion as to if it really needs a new engine, (sounds fishy to me) and/or do the work required. Has been quoted £2600, but in fairness he doesn't know enough to know if thats reasonable and I'm up north now and no chance of seeing the car..
