Newbie here, want to go....restomod!
Discussion
Just sold my Westfield and I’m now ready to delve into the world of historic British sportcars so I thought I might as well chose the world’s most popular make and model...an MGB Roadster. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like the super shiny chromed wire wheel look but I’m just not quite ready for the beardy, pipe and flat cap look that goes with it! that’s fked 50% of you off already of which I apologise!
Basically, the look I want to start with is nothing too shiny as far as colour is concerned but most importantly I want to lower the car 1 and a half inches and fit 15 x 6 steel wheels and modern tyres before I fettle with other things cosmetic and oily.
Does anybody know of another manufacturers wheel that will fit straight on with something like a 195/50/15 tyre and give me the look in the picture below? I know there are Frontline Dunlop spin off replicas that they use on the Abingdon Edition cars but they are super pricey and I’ve got a budget that can’t cope with that kind of expense.

http://www.johnbrownwheels.com/wheels/ might have something to suit your needs, but check the weigh of them before you buy.
There's also https://wellerwheels.com of course.

The pcd is 4x114.3 search this on eBay and you'll find lots. Pretty sure a lot of Japanese cars pcd's are the same. You just might want to machine a ring to reduce the the centre bore but that depends on the wheels and if you feel it's necessary. I've got a sebring kit on mine with big wide Rota alloys.
I must admit I'm not a huge fan of British cars but am a huge fan of restomods so felt the need to have a gander at this thread.
This looks promising, i agree a MGB lowered with some wider wheels and dechrome/smooth a few bits of bodywork could work well.
To take the idea a bit further a MGB body with a modern running gear for example a tasty 4 cylinder setup from a Honda S2000 or a lump of TVR V8 combined with a independent rear end could be superb
