Hi. Currently after an MG Midget (chrome bumper type) I have been to see a couple which weren't what I'm looking for. However, I have been offered a car that has been re shelled using a heritage shell. Is there huge differences between an original shell and a heritage? The car is also black, 1974 (round wheel arch) Does anyone know what colours were available and for what years?
Thanks in advance.

A 1275 RWA 74 is the cream of the crop (IMO) I had a teal blue one, loved it.

Not the best pic but this is when I bumped into it (not literally) 6yrs after I sold it. The current owner was over for the Lemans classic and had taken a day out to visit some chateaus, pic is a petrol station in Amboise.

I've just gone through the process - albeit for an MGB GT, and scope creep has lead me over a 3-4 month period to a v8... and a much higher budget, The car is due to be delivered next week ;-) it's coming from sussex and I live in cumbria so with 2 owners club inspections and plenty of photo's . I'm

I have found the owners club very useful - both in terms of finding folks for inspections but also the support line to ask questions about what you should be looking for and the implications of certain things - suspension refresh for example.

The heritage bodyshells are based on the original manufacturing jigs and are pretty much the orginals, they will just be new metal rather than 40-50 year old rusty metal. They are not cheap and to replace the shell involves pretty much dismantling the car..

As for colours this might help - it covers MGB and Midget http://www.teglerizer.com/mgcolors/index.html
