Which MG club to join?
Discussion
I've just bought a '72 MGB GT which although good body wise, I'm looking for some technical advice. Both the MG owners club and MG car club are expensive to join so which should I join for the best advice via the club and forum?
Also, are there any knowledgeable MG members or specialists in the Aberdeenshire area?
Thanks

If not joining either Club, there's the excellent https://www.mgexp.com/phorum/list.php?1 . There's nothing that has not been done/experienced/needed repairing/modified amongst the folk who post on the site. There are a lot of MGB owners worldwide and the 'knowledge' for those new to the car/marque is phenomenal. Also, the technical search function on mgexp is superb. Good luck with the new car, when all together they're great fun.
Traditionally the owners club was for the oap polishers and the car club was a younger more practical and more activity/motor sport orientated.
Now unfortunately the average age of owners has made the car club closer to the owners club in outlook and a lot of the club level Motorsport has died down.
I prefer the car club, but the owners club was always far better from a sales perspective. Really your best off buying membership to both for a year and seeing which you prefer they are closer now than they were 20 years ago but still quite distinct.
