Mgzs 120 sticking at 2k rpm

Used to ge this sort of thing on my K-series Elise a lot. Can be a number of things I'm afraid. Suggest you try the following first:
Check throttle cable is moving freely. A little clean and grease at both ends won't do any harm.
TPS reset (most cars have some sort of procedure)
Clean TPS
Clean IACV
Remove all electrical connections in that area (including temperature sensor) and give them all a good clean with contact cleaner
After that, I guess it's likely to be either a new TPS, IACV or or temperature sensor but do the cheap checks first.

I used to get this on my old vvc k series engine. It was cured when I replaced the plastic throttle body with a slightly larger metal one. I presume the plastic throttle body was sticking, but it may have been the cable or some thing else which then got rectified in the process of fitting the new part.
If it has a plastic throttle body then as said they are prone to distorting and causing the butterfly to stick. This is vastly more likely if some nasty induction kit has been fitted and someone has over-tightened a hose clip on the TB.
Other possibilities are a sticking idle control valve or damaged/sticking throttle cable or maybe even a ropey throttle position sensor.

Not necessarily, leaking inlet manifold gaskets are quite common and should be an early check (assuming nothing obvious like leaking water pump, hoses or radiator). Does the starter struggle to turn the engine over first thing in the morning?Theres little bits of white mayo on dipstick though now so its leaning more towards although it only does 18 miles a day though so could be condensation. will check the inlet manifold gasket. The heater does stay warm though and doesnr go cold. When the expansion tank was empty could here water circulating around car which was weird has stopped now after putting coolant in and hasnt seemed to have dropped out again as of yet? Seems a bit odd.
And no the car starts very easily. Reset the throttle sensor doing the ignition pumping acelerator 5 times and then turning off then starting. Its stopped the juddering now and weird idling.
Told my dad to getva full service oil engine flush spark plugs etc and get them to have a look around for any signs of anything.
