MG Midget EN40B MOWOG Crankshaft
Discussion
I have an original EN40B steel crankshaft for an A series engine, in good condition. I understand these were in early cars and phased out due to cost. I no longer need this and I'm looking to move it on; however I've no idea of value. If you wanted to buy a new EN40B crank from someone like Moss Europe it costs £1500 upwards but this is obviously new retail.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. I've looked at a few MG club websites but can't post unless I pay for membership.
Thanks

They were fitted to the first 1000 or so Midgets & Sprites. Reason was due to "crank whip" as the early blocks were thin flanged as per transverse engines. No tappet chest covers mind. Transverse engines had the gearbox to stiffen up the bottom end, but the pressed sump on inline engines didn't give the block enough stiffness. Casting number is AEG 566
