3rd time now in 6 months. Burst hose on the coolant system. Always seems to happen when on the motorway. Dealer has checked for gasses in the pipe and checked for pressue - all passed OK. (Gases in the pipe would idicate blown head gasket) Aparently MG don't have a clue either. Is this happening to anyone else?
Ditto that on Exeter - guess it could be Exeter Motor Group - cant be that many in the metropolis of this devon city. I bought a 160T from them in early 2003 and traded up to the 260 ZT T in december 2004 - they are a superb garage - had a few niggles with the 160 and they always sorted it reliably. I even got a loan car for the morning and another time for a day without charge. In fact when i was thinking of buying it i took one for 3 days test! Now that is service. I don't even live anywhere near the place. You really do have to shop around. My local garage, when asked by me to give a quote on the 260 promptly posted me a quote at list! i mean come on. EMG gave me a hefty discount. superb motor - trade up mate, sell your wife, whatever, gotta be done!
I have heard of a few people (5 or 6) having the same problem with the heater hoses on the 260 and there are a few threads on it on XPF. We are thinking of doing a bulk purchase of aeroquip hoses to replace them but the feeling is why should we spend money that MG should have been doing in the first place.
All in all the ZT 260 is a great car and I love driving it.
