Beelinette replica wings?
Discussion
Hi there PHers
I have been wanting to fix a nasty panel issue with my 1972 MGB GT and I found a company called RPS who do rather nice headlight cover conversions, so it got me thinking.
How easy would it be to find/make Berlinette style front wings to fit a GT?
I want the front to look exactly like this (only in a different colour) while keeping the rest of the car the original styling. It would really make my car unique which is what I'm aiming for.

OP, just noticed this thread. From the photo', reworking the wings in metal and letting/leading in the mini flare to the arches should not be a problem, it's simple careful metalworking. The one difficult part would be making the correct chrome surround and, even harder, the glass/perspex headlight covers. Nothing is not do-able these days, especially if you're proficient with a good CAD package and can forward the design on to a professional lens manufacturer. As note, I'd get the lens surrounds made in brass as it's easy to braze and form, and brass is much better to chromium plate. Or, why not be adventurous and team up with a 3D printing specialist and get them to 3D the chrome lens bezels in 3D printed chromium coloured metal?I have been wanting to fix a nasty panel issue with my 1972 MGB GT and I found a company called RPS who do rather nice headlight cover conversions, so it got me thinking.
