Tell me about MG ZR's

What year is it?
What engine?
The 1.4 is sloooow!
Handle well for what they are though
Suspension can be a bit harsh
The ZR 160+ is the best of the bunch with the VVC engine, if its all working then they are surprisingly quick little cars
Not a bad car overall if the K-Series is looked after
I've got the ZT with the Turbo K-series in it and its a nice car to drive.
Just gotta save my pennies up to get the ecu upgrade to 204BHP!

Another appealing factor for alot of people is the simplicity of the mechanical parts and design. When something goes wrong with an MG Rover, they're easy and cheap to sort by yourself if you have a basic tool kit and a bit of common sense.
The K Series is brilliant but flawed. The revvy 1.4 16v puts out approx 100bhp and in a small car like the ZR, it can be an absolute riot to drive. Head gasket is an issue, but it can last as long as the car if you let the engine warm up before giving it the beans. The 1.8 and 1.8 VVC are both offer silly amounts of fun-factor for little risk/cost.

The 1.4 is slow? Compared to your turbo ZT? Hmm...What engine?
