MGB WITH A FORD V6 ESSEX.
Discussion
This has been done, but I don't understand why you'd want to replace one heavy cast iron lump with another. Some B owners Stateside put modern lightweight V6 units in B's with great success, but they are much lighter than the old Essex/Cologne units. If it's really a V6 you want, and not a V8, why not put in a modern fuel injected Ford V6 ala Morgan? Go to a scrap yard, buy a complete system including wiring loom, ECU, injection, gearbox et al. Sell the Essex engines to the early TVR and Scimitar boys to fund the new V6 overhaul...and off you go. Lighter, greater torque and drive-ability, greater fuel economy and 220bhp+ straight out of the box. Plus, low cost parts from every dealer in the UK.
