Just been looking at a load of old photos from my FIL, who was heavily into his cars in his youth....amongst all his mini grass track cars, his daily driver until the kids came along was a Midget.

I've just looked at the DVLA website, and it's still taxed.

Is anyone able to see if it exists on club records, be nice to see it in it's current state.....and for the current owner to see old photos of it (especially the ones towing a caravan) !

It's reg is NLY 359L

Thank you

check the registration you've given here as I think it's a typo

you can also ask on MG web sites/forum or the various MG clubs

I'd drop the Midget Register of the MG Car Club a line and see if they have any history on the car.
If its owned by a current member they may be able to pass your details on to the owner and ask for them to get in touch.

a 1972 or earlier car is more likely to still be around because of the "free road tax" going back to the 1990s (or its registration and log book (V5C) at least)

good luck

P.S. don't forget to edit your original post to the correct reg

Yes, re my first post....I checked the DVLA website, this tells you the current tax liability of any car on their database. The reg is still on a 1972 MG Midget, in blue....and is due for the tax to be renewed next month, so would appear very much in existence and currently road legal.

er, sorry but you've missed my point - your opening/original post has the reg as NLY 359Y which will confuse anyone looking at that reg (NLY 359Y)

plus, er, the details for NLY 359L are -
. Date of Liability - 01 06 2014
. Date of First Registration - 16 08 1972
. Year of Manufacture - 1972
. Cylinder Capacity (cc) - 1275cc
. CO₂ Emissions - Not Available
. Fuel Type - PETROL
. Export Marker - N
. Vehicle Status - Licence Due to Expire
. Vehicle Colour - GREEN
. Vehicle Type Approval - Not Available

by register I might assume wrongly you mean the MGCC (Car Club), you could also try the MGOC (Owners Club) and MASC (Midget and Sprite Club) and go on to their forums
